How long is the warranty?
Frozen Garage Door Solutions warrants this product with proof of purchase, to the original purchaser, to be free from defects resulting from faulty manufacture or faulty components for 2 years.
Can the kit come for any size garage door?
Yes, we manufacture the kits for 8, 9, 10, 12, 16, 18 and 20 foot overhead garage doors, but we can custom fabricate any size.
Will I have to drill into my concrete floor?
Yes, in order to secure it to the concrete, 1/2 inch holes must be drilled into the concrete about 1 1/4 inch deep.
Is it difficult to install?
If you are handy with tools, no it is not. We provide written instructions as well as videos for each step. A local garage door repair company can also install this product.
Where can I purchase a replacement heated cable?
We stock all lengths of heated cable for our product.
How much elevation does the bracket add once installed?
Once installed the aluminum bracket will add 1/2 inch of height to your concrete floor. A minor adjustment may be required to the down travel of your door.
What if the heated wire that is provided is not long enough?
You will have to purchase an extension power cord. The cable gauge must be no less than AWG#14.
Does the concrete floor need to be level?
Yes, proper installation requires the concrete floor under the aluminum bracket to be level. Ready mix concrete can be used to level off slight imperfections.
What is the power supply required for the Heat Trace Cable?
A Standard 120 volt outlet (comes with inline Ground Fault Interrupter cord)
What is the inline Ground Fault Interrupter cord?
Global Electrical Codes require ground-fault protection of components and each heating cable branch circuit to reduce the danger of fire caused by continuous electrical arcing resulting from improper installation or damage to the heating cable.
How many watts per foot does the cable create?
5 Watt/ft. in ice/snow.
